The story of your birth

 Hi Ty
So glad you are here.
Here is your hospital story.
We went to Waffle House for breakfast with Caleb, Hannah, and Daddy.  Grandma met us there to get Caleb and Hannah and then Daddy and I headed to the hospital to have you.  In the past when I had Hannah and Caleb and was induced I couldn’t eat after I got to the hospital so I wanted to eat a big meal first.

We were scheduled to be induced at 9am, so they checked us in, and started us on a pill Cytotec, that induces labor.  Well during this process your heart rate decreased once, but then it did it three more times.  The doctor decided at 3pm he was going to come back to the hospital and break my water, and get you to come out faster.  He attached a monitor to your head, to monitor your heartbeat better, and broke my water.  But it kept dropping so emergency c-section it was. Oh I should have mentioned when the nurse came in and explained your heart rate was dropping too low, Daddy and I held hands and said a special prayer for you that God would watch over us and you.

The nurse started getting me ready for surgery, there are medicines they had to put in my IV, and shave my belly, and a catheter, while doctor called the OR to tell them we were coming.  When they wheeled me to the hallway they had to unhook the monitors from you. I did not speak a single word from the time I left the room until after surgery.  As they wheeled me down I knew we were in a hurry and your heartbeat had been dropping dangerously low.  It was one of those situations where if I said a single word the flood gates of emotions and tears would have opened.  So I just silently prayed. I remember seeing Daddy’s face in the hallway and he looked confused and scared.  But I didn’t say anything to him I just started praying, I started thinking of every praise and worship song, every prayer, every bible verse.  Anything to give me hope you were okay.

They wheeled me into the OR and there were A LOT of people.  Doctor, nurse, two anesthesiologists, and some more people.  We were in a hurry, normally they let Daddy’s go in or wait right outside but no time to get Daddy ready.  Sometimes they numb the mommy and she is awake, but they didn’t have time to do that so they put me out.  To be honest I was a mess of emotions and was on the verge of a panic attack so I am glad they were putting me to sleep.

I have to tell you about the anesthesiologist, one was an older gentleman, he was standing behind my head. And was the nicest man I have ever met.  He was so calm and reassuring, explaining things to me, and he kept rubbing the side of my face really gently.  Such an awesome guy.  The other anesthesiologist name was Tyler John.  After I woke up from surgery someone told me you were okay, I said where is my husband I can’t find my husband, I lost my husband.  They explained that Daddy was with you.  My legs were hurting really really really bad, like I had a Charlie Horse in each leg, the really nice anesthesiologist was there and checked them, he made an excuse that he liked to rub women’s legs. I overheard them talking and someone asked the younger anesthesiologist what his name was, and I told him that was one of the names we were considering, and he said oh it is a good name you should consider it, I did help you deliver your baby and all.  No pressure.  (We had already decided on Tyler John in the hospital room earlier, we had narrowed down the choices to these top four; Tyler John, Aiden John, Andrew John, and Timothy John)  Even though we had already decided on Tyler John it was neat and sort of like a little sign from God that was the right name for you.

You stayed in the nursery on an IV for the first day and couldn’t come to my room with me, but eventually they said you were healthy and could come to my room.  We went home on Sunday, when you were three days old.  Your Aunt Paula visted you at the hospital, but I forgot to get a picture of her holding you.  She even went to the nursery once and held you for two hours while I had to get a test done on my legs to make sure there wasn't a blood clot.  (She originally went so I could have a nap, but I needed that test done)

One more funny situation that happened.  When I was in my room after you were born,  you couldn't ocme see me and I couldn't come see you.  But no dcotors or nurses had come in to tell me how you were.  So I told the nurse (while HIGH on pain medication), "I know that I am high and incoherent right now, but I STILL EXPECT SOMEONE to come in here and tell me how MY baby is doing."

Decided to also add the Facebook status updates from the hospital after your birth.
